Sydney auction clearance rate settles at 54%
Domain’s preliminary results for 16–22 August show 631 Sydney properties scheduled for auction, with 372 results reported and 200 sales recorded. The clearance rate was 54%, compared with 75% at the same time last year; 114 properties were withdrawn and 58 passed in. Reported sales totalled $159.7 million, with a median sale price of $1,603,500. The result points to a more selective market, where realistic pricing and close attention to recent local evidence remain important.
